Small But Unstoppable

Skelwith Force is a waterfall that I come back to time and time again. It’s really not a big waterfall, even by UK standards, but the local geology means all the water that drains off the Langdale fells and through Elter Water gets squeezed by a narrow chasm, creating a magnificent roaring spectacle.

When I took this shot a few weeks ago the gorge that houses this waterfall was looking particularly lush after fresh rain, the rocks still glistening and all the moss looking vibrant.
