A few years ago Lisabet and I hosted one of Lisabet’s sisters, who’s based in New Zealand. Now, it would be fair to say that the Lake District doesn’t shine a light compared to the natural splendour and fecundity of New Zealand, especially New Zealand’s South Island. But we have our own little charms, right?
One evening we all ventured to Loughrigg Tarn, a delightful spot to enjoy some outdoor swimming and enjoy the views towards the Langdale Pikes. We were especially fortunate to gaze upon this spectacular light show as the sun started to peak out from the rain clouds, casting dazzling rays of light above the Langdale Pikes.
