Ruskin's Home

Despite it being summer now, the weather has been rather changeable of late in Cumbria. But today, finally, the rain left us and glorious sunshine bathed the land.

Lisabet and I became backyard tourists for the day, visiting Brantwood: the home of writer, artist, and social philanthropist John Ruskin, who lived here from 1872 until his death in 1900. I can see why he came here for his final years: the views, location, and abundant flora are just astonishing.
