Did I ever mention that me Dad’s moved up to Cumbria?
See, my origins are from Down South, in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. I moved away from there years ago, but Dad’s been there all his life. Until this summer. Now he’s living his dream, out in the middle of nowhere in North Cumbria.
This weekend gone, Lisabet and I enjoyed hike around Caldbeck with me Dad. He wanted to show us the abandoned bobbin mill there, as well as the limestone gorge and its falls known as The Howk. It was a delightful hike, with wonderful scenery, the photo in this post being one of many I managed to snap; here looking down into the gorge as Whelpo Beck carves out a deeper cleft in the limestone.
